Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the United States. The actress is an actor as well as a singer and dancer. Her early Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that created Hamilton, will direct the musical. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant character. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. She has also appeared in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
